LIDA 2008 PhD forum

A PhD forum will be organized at LIDA 2008 where work dealing with students' particular thesis topic can be presented. The PhD students are also encouraged (but not required) to present a poster about their research. The PhD forum will consist of a panel where students will briefly present their proposed research and senior faculty participants will react and make suggestions to possibly improve their thesis research. These topics of the posters and presentations are not restricted to the core topics of the conference. Students at any stage of their PhD are encouraged to apply. The forum is an ideal place for presenting research in the early or planning stages, as well as work that is nearing completion to obtain possibly valuable feedback.

This doctoral forum is organized by PhD students for PhD students and is a unique opportunity to present your research in a supportive environment to an international audience of students, researchers and practitioners.

Students interested in participating in the LIDA 2008 PhD forum should submit a 1000-1500 word research report or proposal which will appear both on the LIDA website so that it could be read in advance by interested parties and in the conference proceedings. The poster will be presented at the regular poster session. Deadline for submitting research reports or proposals are 15 February 2008; acceptance by 1. March 2008. Deadline for posters: 1 February 2008; acceptance by 15 February 2008. Note that submission of a poster qualifies a PhD student to participate in the PhD Forum panel.

All the PhD posters enter a competition for the best poster award, which includes an annual ASIS&T membership and free registration for next LIDA!

All submissions should be made to: Prof. Tatjana Aparac at
