| Types of contributions |
Invited are the following types of contributions:
- Papers: scholarly studies and reports on research and practice that will be presented at the conference and published as e-proceedings (with
ISBN) on the LIDA web site. - Posters: short graphic presentations on research, studies, advances, examples or preliminary work that will be presented in a special poster session. Awards will be given for Best Poster and Best Student Poster.
Poster guidelines - Demonstrations: live examples of working projects, services, interfaces, commercial products, or developments-in-progress that will be presented during the conference in specialized facilities or presented in special demonstration sessions.
- Workshops: two to four-hour sessions that will be tutorial and educational in nature. Workshops will be presented before and after the main part of the conference. Two workshops will be free of charge for all registered participants.
- PhD Forum: short presentations by PhD students, particularly as related to their dissertation, in a session organized by the European Chapter of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (EC/ASIST); responses will be provided by a panel of educators at this forum.

Abstracts should not exceed 300 words (exclusive of references) and should clearly state research questions, approach, method and (expected) results. A maximum of five key words should be provided. Notification acceptance for papers: 17 February 2014

Final papers should not exceed twelwe pages (6,000 words), and final poster submissions should not exceed three pages (1,650 words). Final submissions will not be edited for typing, spelling, or grammatical errors after submission.
Workshop proposal: 31 January 2014

| Invitation to institutions |
LIDA’s organizers are seeking to reach a wider audience. We invite libraries, information agencies, professional organizations, publishers, and service providers to consider participation at LIDA by providing a demonstration, workshop, or exhibit about their products, services or advances, or by presenting a paper or poster about their activities, as related to the two themes. Institutions can benefit as well by sending representatives to LIDA. Course materials will be given to participants so that they can communicate and transfer topics of interest to their institution. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and new sponsors are warmly invited.
